KIT institutions
The KIT Climate and Environment Center is one of four interdisciplinary KIT centers that deal with issues that are of fundamental importance for the existence and development of society.
The KIT Natural and Built Environment department generates, teaches and applies knowledge about the changing Earth. This includes processes and developments as well as anthropogenic changes and their effects.
Changing natural and anthropogenic environmental conditions will present society with major challenges in the future, some of which are already being felt today. In order to meet these challenges, the scientific basis for adapting to these environmental and climate changes at a regional level must be created in addition to the development of mitigation strategies in a global context.
