Regional Helmholtz Climate Offices

The South German Climate Office at KIT is one of four regional climate offices of the Helmholtz Association, each with its own regional and thematic focus.

Climate change will manifest differently in various regions. Farmers, coastal engineers, urban planners, as well as decision-makers from politics and businesses need first-hand information to prepare for climate change in their region. Therefore, the Helmholtz Association has decided to establish a nationwide network of regional climate offices. The four regional climate offices consolidate and convey research findings on regional climate change. Additionally, they identify information needs and integrate them into the research programs.
